[Tiny Epic Galaxies, Rising Sun, Empires of the Void II]. 2-5 players, 120 minutes Empires of the Void II tells a story about eight fringe planets and the species that live on them through unique event and action cards. #Empires of the Void II seems a little light on the direct conflict, and unfortunately (this is a bigger loss to me) #Dune needs 6 people to really shine which I rarely (if ever) have. Also, the two sci-fi games that piqued my interest despite my pickiness are #Anachrony and #Empires of the Void II. Do you think if you are playing #Empires of the Void II with more aggressive players in general combat might be heightened? New question, my FLGS didn't have #Empires of the Void II but they might order it. #Empires of the Void II for sure if I win again so soon. I know that one game on my wishlist would probably move up a lot if there was an official solo mode. But part of the game then becomes trying to ensure you can benefit from other people's actions as much as possible and not back yourself into a corner. Although both have combat, in Empires you don't hold it against someone as much as you are all just flying around taking over planets all the time, #Empires of the Void II is really enjoyable, it's a really interesting kind of 4X game as everything is so fluid, rather than empires expanding it is more like you running around spreading your influence and conquering planets while everyone else reconquers the planets you left behind (and you do the same to them). :). by christhomas226 Tue Sep 17, 2019 7:21 am 5 Tue Nov 12, 2019 6:02 pm by espoon82 0 WTB triangle metal coins! They are all at least MSRP (usually significantly more!) I would probably be even more attracted to it if it was more classic in it's art style. :D. I have exactly zero space-themed games. It also gives players tings to physically do inbetween their turns which, even if it is a small thing, keeps you feeling engaged and gives you some agency in response to a players actions. I loved how fluid control of everything was, almost impossbile to hold on to anything if someone else wanted it and usually too far away to respond if someone made a move so you just have to roll with the punches and capture places of your own. Not underrated but perhaps not talked about as much is Empires of the Void II. I really love old 60's and 70's style SciFi art for board games. Modern sci-fi movies are great at appealing to a much larger group but I think the general board game scene is a little behind the times on that front. I snagged a copy of #Marvel Champions: The Card Game for my friends birthday for $59.99, which is comparable to online prices. And another wanted $100 for #Tapestry. A revised rulebook for Empires of the Void that makes the game easier to learn and more clearly explains how to play. Revised 2012 Rule Book. There is a lot of different elements going on in this game that harken to others. In Empires of the Void, two to four players compete to expand their empire in a vast, diverse galaxy. However, the one potential downside is if the other players are specialising in one area or you just get out of sync with your opponents you can get into trouble. It's a VP game so you could just beat your score. We have two Targets and they have a pretty pathetic game section. So for the most part the local stores are really too overpriced for me to do serious purchases there. Interestingly, they both have illustration styles that aren't 100% appealing to me, but it's much better than most out there. By the time Captain Markan realized Earth was losing the war against the Znu, it was too late. Have you played any games with this mechanic and did you like them? Thoughts? I think the new version of #Dune is stunning. By having follow on mehanics, it encourages players to be constantly assessing the board state so they can make smart decisions when the opportunity arises. I'd say both #Dune and #Terraforming Mars sound spacy? I have nothing against them but looking at my collection, I seem to be naturally drawn to "real to life" or more relatable themes. Two of my most favorite purchases have been from Facebook marketplace. You can add as many games you want to the list, see it in your account area, and share it with others. You'll find ancient ruins, stop planetary wars, transport desperate leaders to distant locales, and rescue worlds from imminent invasion. No Results. So now I'm sitting between #Empires of the Void II and #Architects of the West Kingdom.
