Game is great, but replay-ability is really low. In the end it took ~15 min of debating the order which resulted in the 2 people who didn't like puzzels to abandon the game "calls us when you finished it!"   Your previous content has been restored. Otherwise this is standard Fantasy Flight stuff, which is to say excellent components and game elements. Mansions of Madness is a cooperative game of mystery and investigation inspired by the writings of H. P. Lovecraft. The game gets out of its own way and lets the gameplay shine. I did not know much about Mansions of Madness when I dove in head first. Great game on the first play for each scenario; it is ok when you already know what to do; definitely boring when you know all the possible events in a scenario and you reach this point with 2/3 plays for scenario. An easy mode could give out 1-2 extra starting items and bump the gamer timer up a few turns. In some ways this does feel like it is almost an app game but the experience with your friends and family is excellent. But I feel like some problems could have been solved easy. I find the scenarios I've done, 1 and 2 super enjoyable. Stranger still is certain Premium Investigators cannot be added regardless as they have never been released for either edition of the game (although we expect them to arrive in the next 3 years): You asked if would cause any problem to pick a separate character/avatar. I really enjoy MoM2 (after having played a few MoM1 scenarios MoM2 has hit table more in ~6 weeks than MoM1 in 2 years). A huge improvement over the first edition! Ending the game in puzzles or just running away is at least somewhat thematic in the genre. That being said, someone should still to know how to play the game and be able to reference the rulebook to ensure everything is on track.
