You may be aware that following our success in gaining the money from the World Monuments Fund which enabled the city council to carry out necessary repairs to the West Front of the Abbey, NAP is now looking for other ways to raise funds to enable further improvements. The Abbey was later acquired by the Savile family in 1626, it remained in their ownership until the mid-20th century. In the late 13th century, the priory was rebuilt and extended. The house is a three-storey building, and you can still see today the lead rainwater heads with the Cradock family crest, some of which have a 1709 date and others with 1713. All rights Reserved.
