I realize this album is not for everybody. Type: EP Release date: April 1st, 2017 Catalog ID: N/A Version desc. The drums play mostly death metal but the guitars are what drive in the black metal stake. I accept. These songs in particular seem to have the most effort put into them. In truth, the ideas on Realm of Sacrifice are actually very solid, and for the life of me I wish I could enjoy them as much as they might deserve. Favorite tracks: Vanum is closely associated with the flourishing Brooklyn black metal scene, despite their members taking up residence in a number of cities in the United States. Couple that with tastefully executed blast beats and a nice fat bass tone that sneaks its way into the mix and you've got a recipe for what I love, and oh does it sound fantastic! The year is barely a quarter of the way over and we may already have the best American Black Metal release of the year here with Vanum's second full length "Ageless Fire".

Take note! Barring the intro and outro, the latter of which I do feel isn't totally needed, every track boasts Rekevics' booming and thunderous vox; each monstrous roar feeling like it could cave your chest in. Production on "Ageless Fire" is remarkably clean.

I had never heard of this band before my buddy bought the CD to Ageless Fire recently.
